Join STUDIO for a fall outing to Red Hook on Sunday, October 21st as we explore Pioneer Works, a cultural center dedicated to experimentation, education, and production across disciplines. Together, we’ll enjoy a guided tour of PÒTOPRENS: The Urban Artists of Port-au-Prince, an exhibit that brings together the work of over 25 artists working in the Haitian capital. This large-scale exhibition of sculptures, photographs, and films, accompanied by a garden installation of a recreated Port-au-Prince barbershop, highlights Port-au-Prince’s many diverse centers of cultural production, informal street life, religious heritage, and mythologies to create a compelling portrait of a historically significant and intensely complex city in flux. Afterwards, attendees are encouraged to stay in the neighborhood to explore the incredible restaurants, indie distilleries, and edgy boutiques that populate this unique Brooklyn neighborhood.
Admission is $10 for members and $20 for non-members. Members may purchase a maximum of 2 tickets at the member rate. Please click here to RSVP.
